As the year stumbles toward its conclusion, I wanted to share a few final words and break the tension with a poorly timed gnome pun.
The end of the year is a time of reflection on the past and planning for the future. Of course, that means we sometimes neglect the present. For these final days of 2022, I hope that you are able to be in the moment, to be where you are, as you are.
The end of the year can be fun and festive, but it can also feel like an endless performance for the benefit of others. These last few days are your opportunity to make like Elsa and let that shit go.
And as for the future, you can worry about 2023 next week. For now, just be.
Admittedly, this year has not seen an incredibly high word count on O&A. I won’t call it a resolution, but one of my hopes for 2023 is to hold myself accountable to post once a week. Till then, I wish you a happy end to the year and a hopeful wish for a better 2023.
Be Kind. Be Brave. Stay Awkward.
