Resting Rebellion

In honor of the first day of spring, a poem.

Redbuds are pink.

Violets are blue.

Spring has returned.

Aaa…aaa…aaa…choo!

Spring is many things. It’s nature’s restart and revenge on our sinuses. It’s the return of activity and busyness. It’s a reminder of our own connection to nature and the power of rest.

In a world that encourages us to always be productive, taking time to rest can feel like an act of rebellion. If that sounds like a bit of an overstatement, you may need a refresher on what rest is.

Rest is where we reconnect with ourselves and the beauty of the world around us. It’s where we reflect and grow.

So enjoy the spring and all the blossoms it brings, but don’t forget the rest that made this season and its beauty possible.

Be Kind. Be Brave. Stay Awkward. Don’t forget to take your allergy meds.
