Festive Focus

In photography, there’s a term known as “bokeh.” It refers to that visually pleasing effect you get when the background of a photo blurs away and all the points of light become fuzzy orbs. It draws your eye to the photo’s focus and gives the world a soft, ethereal glow.

Part of achieving this effect is an increased aperture, which essentially means letting in as much light as possible.

Another critical step is adjusting the shutter speed. Shut it too quickly, and you’re left in the dark. Shut it too slowly, and you’re blinded by the light.

When you hit that sweet spot of light and darkness, the result isn’t necessarily an exact copy of the moment. What it does capture perfectly is the emotion.

Bokeh is the way we want to remember. It blurs away the harshness of reality and turns it into floating, fuzzy balls of light.

Be Kind. Be Brave. Stay Awkward.
