Welcome to the darkest day of winter. Not literally, that was back in December (for those of us in the northern hemisphere).
Today is more of a darkness for the soul. A day so deep in despair that we turn to a man who claims to communicate with an immortal, meteorologically-gifted rodent.
Welcome to Groundhog Day.
Yes, it’s absolutely ridiculous, but it’s also totally marvelous.
Once you get past the prognosticating pets, it’s a holiday entirely about hope. A reminder that even on the darkest days, hope is there.
We still have to make our way through some snowstorms and shadows, but spring will always arrive when it’s supposed to.
