It’s incredibly easy to get caught up in all this world’s dumpster fires and disappointments. Today, I wanted to share a little light and a reminder that it’s not all bad with one short sentence. Libraries exist.
In my book, as long as we have free and easy access to information, we’re not doing too bad.
Libraries are more than public homes for literature. They are a community space. They are a global, gathering spot. They are a home for the incurably curious. They are a free Wi-Fi hotspot that doesn’t require you to purchase and drink your weight in coffee.
Of course, these bastions of knowledge would be nothing without their guards and guides, librarians. Not to exaggerate or wander into hyperbole, but the world would be a better place if it was run by librarians.
So, there you have it, a reminder of hope. There may be book bans and general chaos, but there are still libraries, and that’s not a little thing.
Be Kind. Be Brave. Stay Awkward. Stay Incurably Curious.
